Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups water or milk
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of rolled oats with 2 cups of water or milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the oats are cooked and creamy, stirring occasionally.
  3. In another pan, sauté 1 cup of pecans over low heat until lightly toasted, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of maple syrup to the pecans, stirring until coated. Cook for an additional minute until caramelized.
  5. Once the oatmeal is ready, remove it from the heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
